Saint John de BrebeufSingle Decade Rosary
I love how this combination of beads made such a beautiful pocket rosary that is suitable for the guys yet pretty enough for the ladies, too!
The chaplet has a 7/8" nickel silver St John de Brebeuf medal and a 1-1/8" silver-toned 4-Way Cross which has blue enamel on the cross. Both medal and cross were made in Italy; the chaplet itself was designed and handmade by me in our home in the USA.
The single Our Father bead is a smooth, round, genuine Blue Adventurine. The ten Hail Mary beads are alternating faceted ruby red Czech glass - chosen for the saint's martyrdom - and natural, genuine Tiger Eye. All eleven beads are 8 mm. Chaplet is about 9-3/4" long and comes gift boxed and with the following:
Carry Pouch
How to Pray the Rosary pamphlet
The 15 Promises of Mary card
How to Pray the Divine Mercy card
St John de Brebeuf prayer card
Canadian Martyrs prayer card
Several cards that go with the 4-Way Cross
Gift bag and tissue paper
Known as the Apostle to the Hurons, St John de Brebeuf was a 17th century French missionary who came to Canada to work among the natives. He learned the languages of many native peoples and wrote about them to assist other missionaries. He was taken captive by a group of Iroquois, was ritually tortured and killed. St John is probably the most famous of the Canadian or North American Martyrs. He was canonized in 1930.
The prayer cards which come with our rosaries, medals and pictures are home-made, created using a "greeting card" program on a computer and printed in full color on nice quality paper. Although they are not like the usual smaller professionally printed prayer cards, most of our customers prefer them since they are like a pamphlet with 4 "pages" and several images, prayers, patronages and often other information about the saint or Catholic devotion.
