From Universal’s classic “Bride of Frankenstein,” here’s an ultra-rare resin bust of Boris Karloff as The Monster, ready to render your way.
Produced by LA sculptor, Don Lanning, the bust saw an extremely limited release in 1994 through his company, Lantex. Today, it’s a very obscure piece – a bust that we haven’t seen in well over 20 years.
Lanning’s Monster features a sensitive and interpretive portrait of Karloff’s burn-scarred Monster presented atop a tapered pedestal. A large bust, roughly ½ scale, standing 11 ½” tall x 6” wide x 6” deep, the Monster is cleanly hollow cast in off- white resin as one piece, and has been slickly sprayed with gray primer by its original owner.
Long lost in the garage kit graveyard, Lanning’s Frankenstein awaits a deserving new owner. Why not bring him to life with your brush?
