The US medal companies make these and other medals from time to time to meet the demand of veterans families and collectors. I would estimate this one to be less than 30 years old. This does NOT mean it is fake. It means it of a more current production.
For example: They first started making Bronze star medals in WWII and continue to this day. Just because a Bronze star was not made in WWII does not mean it is fake. I hope this helps.
