Single Decade Rosary
This single decade rosary was handmade by me in our home in the USA. The 10 Hail Mary beads are 8 mm faceted and fire-polished Czech glass beads in a beautiful dark aqua blue/crystal bi-color. The Our Father bead is an 8mm white ceramic with handpainted roses. The 1" gold-toned medal was handmade in France and has a full color image of St Katherine Drexel; the back has a textured pattern. The 1-1/2" tall silver-toned Crucifix was made in Italy.

Saint Katharine Drexel (1858-1955) was the founder of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. She was a woman of deep faith who suffered many losses of loved ones. Born into a wealthy family, she became a nun in 1891 and then spent her considerable inheritance helping impoverished Native American and African American people, establishing many schools and missions across the USA. Katharine was remembered for her love of the Eucharist and a desire for unity of all peoples. She was courageous and took the initiative to address social inequality within minorities. She believed all should have access to a quality education and her selfless service, including the donation of her inheritance, helped many reach that goal.
St. Katharine was beatified on November 20, 1988 and canonized on October 1, 2000 by Pope John Paul II.
The prayer cards which come with our rosaries, medals and pictures are home-made, created using a "greeting card" program on a computer and printed in full color on nice quality paper. Although they are not like the usual smaller professionally printed prayer cards, most of our customers prefer them since they are like a pamphlet with 4 "pages" and several images, prayers, patronages and often other information about the saint or Catholic devotion.
