    Description

WW1 US Army Officers Peaked Hat and Framed Commission Certificate, Named. Fantastic grouping of peaked hat and commission certificate both named to Captain John Allen Hawkins and dated 1917. Hat is in excellent condition with only one issue on the top edge which can be seen in the picture. Head liner has some use stains but is clearly marked to Captain Hawkins. The framed certificate measures 17 1/2 X 20 3/4 inches. Certificate is in very good condition with no stains but does have some age coloring. Frame is good but does show some age wear but this is 104 years old. Certificate states John Allen Hawkins is appointed to Captain in the Medical Section Officers Reserve Corps and dated April second, 1917. The certificate is signed by the Secretary of War and H.P. McCain, Adjutant General. This is a great named group and a fun research project. Please email with any questions or additional pictures. This is large and contains glass so it will have to be packaged accordingly. I will work to provide most economical shipping possible.
