Selling this for my brother-in-law, and family history on this is sketchy. Been stored in an attic for at least 20 years after having been displayed inside for many years at another family member's home. No one seems to know the real story behind the helmet anymore, it may have been belonged to an uncle in the family. My research indicates it is a
WWI 1917 Big Red One Doughboy Helmet for the First Infantry Division. Condition as pictured, looks like it was in a war, that is for sure. Makes you wonder how that big chip came out of the red 1. Please look at all twelve photos.
