Original WWI Era US Army AEF M1917  Helmet Complete w/Liner - Hand Painted 89th Infantry Division Emblem - RARE!!
Up for auction is an Original WWI Era USMC AEF M1917 Helmet
.  This helmet has the orginal paint wth the original textured finish.  It has a hand painted 89th Infantry Division Emblem on each side of the helmet.  The emblem is a Black "W" with Red Fill in the Center (the 314th Engineer Regiment).  Also know as the "Rolling W".  It includes the original liner and chin strap.  The liner is good condition. The chin strap is present, still soft and supple.  The rim is fully intact, not rusting and separating.  There is a YJ143 stamped under the rim.  The helmet has the original paint, no major dings or dents in the helmet. The rim is bent and has a crack on one side.
